Joe Marino

Lead Pastor

Christy and I have been married for nearly 20 years and we are the proud parents of 7 children. I am currently working on my BA in Theology through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We began planting The Well in August 2012 with a vision to “run a rescue mission within a yard of hell and plant a church for people who don’t like church.” We believe that Jesus wants to meet us where we are at, speak to us and set our worship dysfunctions straight. Our hope is that The Well becomes that place where many people hear the gospel, become part of the family and begin participating in the mission to see people hear from Jesus for themselves.

Donnie Halbgewachs

Associate Pastor

I have been married to my best friend Karma since 1985 and we have 3 awesome children (2 who are married to great family additions). I have an MA in Missional Leadership and have been involved in church planting ministry since 2004. We joined The Well in the Fall of 2020 and I enjoy overseeing our Sunday Gatherings and Men’s Ministries.

Joe Nelson

Community Groups Pastor

Eileen and I are the proud parents of 13 children with a whole bunch of grandchildren and we live in Trumbull just outside Hastings Nebraska. I hold an MDiv through Western Baptist Seminary and I enjoy preaching, teaching and discipling other believers. I was installed as the associate pastor of The Well in July 2019 and together with my wife we host biweekly gospel communities in our home where we encourage our church family to have fun, eat food and build friendships.

Patrick Richards

Pastoral Apprentice

I am married to my best friend Kim who is the Campus Life Director with Platte Valley Youth for Christ here in Hastings. We both joined The Well in 2016 and we enjoy investing in teenagers together and hosting Gospel Communities in our home. I currently oversee some of our music teams and I lead staff meetings on Sunday mornings before the Sunday Morning Gathering to encourage, train and pray for leaders who are serving anywhere throughout the church that morning.
